This page is dedicated to our children and the pets they loved. Some of their pets are still with us and some have already joined their beloved companions in Heaven.

Shane Hebert~Lassie, Jake and Gexx

Shane got Lassie when he was 9 years old. She followed him every where. When he would get on his bike to go for a ride, she was right there with him. Not long after he got her, she was hit by a car and lost her back leg. After she recovered, having three legs never slowed her down. They had 10 years together. After we lost Shane, Lassie was never the same, she missed her boy. We had to have Lassie put to sleep in August 2000, she was almost blind, deaf and had trouble getting around. It was time for her to join her beloved Shane. They are together again......

Shane also had another dog who was very special to him, his name was Jake, he got him in the fall of 1995. Jake was a black Chihuahua. Shane liked to take Jake riding in his truck with him which Jake loved. When Jake was 6 months old, he was diagnosed with Lupus. He would spend days at a time at the vet and Shane would go and visit him every day. When Jake was a little over a year old, his body could not take what the Lupus was doing to him, nor the treatment he needed to survive. It was a hard decision for Shane, but he decided after talking to the vet that it would be best to let his little friend go......he asked me to take Jake to the vet to have him put to sleep, because he just couldn't do it. He asked me to please hold him while it was done and then bring him home so he could bury him. Shane cried as he laid his little friend to rest.

Shane also had an iguana named Gexx. He really enjoyed Gexx and thought he was a cool pet. He couldn't wait for Gexx to get big so he could walk her around on a leash. Gexx joined Shane in Heaven a year later.

Shawn Adams~Nikiski and Natasha

This is my son Shawn Adams with his beloved Maltese Nikiski (Keeshee). He got her when she was 6 weeks old and could carry her in his shirt pocket..She was his constant companion for 13 + years and he was heartbroken when she left for the Rainbow Bridge..He never got another dog but adopted my dog Toto for his new best friend...

Here he is with a girlfriend and his cat Natasha..Love me Love my kitty..I still have Natasha and she is 16 years old...Here she is as she looks today, still looking good and going strong..

He loved cats and had many in his life but he only had 2 long time dogs as companions..One was a brown American Brown Water Spaniel who he adored and then Nikiski...

Alexa~Bacchus

When Alexa was three we got a round wiggly fluffy golden retriever puppy. I named him Bacchus after the God of wine because growing up I had known someone else with a dog that had that name and I thought it was a cool name for a dog. Bacchus was Jim's response to my begging him to let me have my friends back because I was lonely. He didn't want me talking to anyone so I guess this was his idea of a compromise. Lexi called him "Boppus" at first and then learned how to pronounce it. Bacchus is no longer with us, but I have many happy memories of evening snuggles on the bed with Lexi using Bacchus as a pillow while I read to her. He never minded, and always seemed interested in the story!

Kevin~ChaCha

Kevin and ChaCha, his chow...He was in the 6th grade and would take her for a walk... but he put the leash on her and got on his skateboard, and she would pull him around the block.. so she took him for a "ride"... LOL All the neighbors thought he was so cute..........

Keegan~Kipper

Keegan, sister Jessie and Kipper when he was eight weeks old.

Keegan (age 3) with his "puppy" Kipper, our yellow lab. This was taken about a year before he died.

Adam Craig Hill ~ Rio, Sawyer, and Coda Rose

Adam always loved animals and music from the time he was little until he was a grown man. We always called him our "little cowboy". Adam loved the outdoors too. He could always bond with any animal instantly. His dad raised a litter of beagles every few years, just to keep the bloodline going. Of course Adam would get to pick which puppy for us to keep, and that was really hard for him, since he loved them all. He also got to pick the perfect name for them. Him and his dad would spend so much time training his puppies, so they would be the best hunters in the whole county. Adam got to pick three beagle puppies in his short life-time, and he dearly loved all three of them. He named the first one Sparky, then years later, Sparky fathered the next puppy that Adam named Sassy. Finally, he named Sassy's son, Rio, because he had a Diamond on his back. Even though Adam is with Sparky now, we still have Sassy and her son, Rio. On Christmas day in 1995, Adam and his brother Jared surprised me with a cocker spaniel puppy. I had really wanted a cocker spaniel for a long time. Sawyer was spoiled by all of us and he literally grew up with Adam and Jared. Sawyer was just another part of our family for many years. He would take turns sleeping with our sons and they played with him everyday. Sawyer suddenly developed lymphoma almost immediately after we lost Adam. Three months later, he went to meet Adam at the Rainbow Bridge. We all really miss Sawyer, but we know that he is now with Adam and they are with Sparky and all the other pets we've lost.

Adam also loved his ponies and horses. He learned to ride a horse when he was only four years old! I think that dog and horse were some of his first words. Adam's great-grandfather got him his first three ponies, Pokey, Shawn, and Buddy. My grandfather was always a cowboy and loved his horses too. Adam learned all he could about how to take care of them, just like he did with our dogs. He would ride his ponies everyday and he loved to ride in parades with his dad. He won several trophies and ribbons with his ponies and horses. Adam was in 4-H for over ten years. He became quite the horseman, winning almost every show he entered. Adam showed at the fairs here every year, and he would entertain his friends each night of the fair by playing his guitar and singing. His music seemed to go right along with the horses he loved so much. He also wanted to become a 4-H advisor to help young children learn all about horses and how to show them. He never got to fulfill that dream though. Adam did work with a young boy and his horse the summer before he passed. He taught that little boy so much about horses, and he was there with him for every show and even at the fair. We were so proud of him and all of his accomplishments and even more for taking the time to help another child. Adam had alot of ponies and horses, but his favorite horse was the last one he had. We still have his horse here on our farm and everyday his horse watches across the road where Adam lived and nickers for him. I take him an apple everyday and pet him. He seems to like to listen to me talk about Adam too. His name is Coda Rose, which seems so appropriate, since Coda means the last name in music. Adam's music has stopped here, but we know that our "little cowboy" is singing and playing his guitar in Heaven while riding his horses who were there waiting for him. And walking beside them are Sparky and Sawyer. They are all together taking care of each other again now.

Johnny Alan Gallegos and Nani

Christmas of 2002 we bought our children a puppy. A Siberian husky named, Nani. Nani instantly took to Johnny more than anyone. Johnny loved Nani. She was his dog. Nani knew Johnny as "Her boy" and when we told her to get "Her boy" she would run into Johnny's arms. She slept with him, ate with him and would wait patiently at the door for him to come home.

We often find Nani in Johnny's room, lying on his bed or jumping around and playing on it. I watch and wonder if "Her boy" is there with her playing, goofing around and laughing as he always did.
